Playgroup Victoria is looking for outstanding playgroups and individuals at all levels who support children and families across the playgroup spectrum. In other words we are looking for playgroups and individuals who go above and beyond expectations.
Community Playgroup Award Categories
Community playgroups are developed locally and are usually held in community buildings. Anyone can attend these playgroups, but some community playgroups form to meet a specific need or philosophy. Community playgroups include all kinds of playgroups including culturally specific playgroups, grandparent’s playgroups and church playgroups. Multi-session playgroups may offer more than one model.
In best practice playgroups:
- Participants build friendships and social supports
- Children learn and develop through play
- Everyone takes responsibility and works together
- The playgroup provides a safe and supportive environment
- Adults exchange ideas and shared parenting experiences
